Who could dislike an elephant?

by Nick

Every Friday Darren invites someone to be Guest Editor for the day to choose and discuss three or four images that have not previously been published on the website.  Today’s Guest Editor is Nick Cantle, a wildlife photographer from Norfolk who specialises in UK wildlife including fungi, flora and fauna.  You can see Nick’s photos at his website Nick Cantle Wildlife Photography.

I love elephants, they’re incredible. In fact ever since I read ‘Babar’ when I was very young, I’ve admired them.  I had a bit of a cry when his Mum got killed for her tusks, that wasn’t nice.  Who could dislike an elephant though?  Look at it, the David Attenborough of the animal world. All knowing, wise, graceful and full of character.  Many stories I’ve read about elephants mention that they have been known to kill humans quite easily when they go on a stomp.  I’ve never seen one in the flesh, but if people like Darren continue to take beautiful photographs of them, I can enjoy them until I travel and see them.
