When building is everything

Talking of home, this male taveta golden weaver is building his own. And struggling, but he’ll get the hang of it.

The species is endemic to a small area of north east Tanzania and south east Kenya. The males build nests, and then a female comes to inspect them all and choose a mate.

Wildlife photography is so much easier when it’s fun to watch. And these fellas were – with varied degrees of skill and the occasional cad trying far too hard to cut a corner or two ….
