The under appreciated bird

by Nick

Every Friday Darren invites someone to be Guest Editor for the day to choose and discuss three or four images that have not previously been published on the website.  Today’s Guest Editor is Nick Cantle, a wildlife photographer from Norfolk who specialises in UK wildlife including fungi, flora and fauna.  You can see Nick’s photos at his website Nick Cantle Wildlife Photography.

An under appreciated bird, the Starling. A pain to many who feed the garden birds, a joy to who gets to see one as closely as this. Wonderful how they flock trawl the sky like a twisting mass of black, purple & blue metallic paint, creating images in the sky.
But to many, they’ll always remain as ‘the ones that thieve the good bird food’.
