The also-rans: Lookout duty

We’re going to share some big cat images with you today, pictures which were made in the Masai Mara, Kenya, home of BBC TV’s big cat week.

So first up today is these three young lions, sitting up on a mound of earth and keeping watch for the pride.  Again it’s been a good seller as environmental portraits usually are.

I do like the close up showing every hair and feature, but it’s also nice to pull back occasionally and this was one such opportunity.
