The also-rans: Charing Cross, a different way!
by Darren

This image was taken on the same evening as the previous image of the London Eye which appeared in my top 10, using the same technique.
It’s an image of Charing Cross Station, with an explosion of light at the centre, coming across the Thames at us, by zooming a lens during a long exposure.
I like the way the spire is repeated top left in a mythical kind of representation. There’s a flag that’s repeated top right in the same way. Look closely into that dark water and there’s a barge or something there.
As I said before, this isn’t my usual style, but it’s nice to push the boundaries from time to time.
