Sweet as candy

The bright colours and nice shapes of this sea urchin remind me of candy I used to eat as a kid – proper fizzy candy that is, not just American for any kind of sweet.

But of course the fascinating view via a close up image conceals some nasty stuff. Those spines will deliver an unpleasant sting to anyone who touches it, although not fatal or anywhere near it as I learned during my diving rescue course when I had a scenario involving one.

So I didn’t feel at all silly for calling an ambulance ….
