Smug satisfaction, and nothing to do

Every Friday Darren invites someone to be Guest Editor for the day to choose and discuss three or four of his images that have previously not been published on the website. Today’s Guest Editor is Felicity Fuller who works at one of our favourite charities, the brilliant Born Free Foundation and will be updating us a little on some of the work of Born Free. Felicity is writing in a personal capacity.

Hippos are such incredible creatures and face monumental challenges such as the drought and floods that Kenya faced recently – they are semi-aquatic so rely on the vegetation near the lakes and rivers – and when that is decimated by drought then the hippos can die out at alarming rate! This one, however, looks very satisfied with himself at the moment (I hope it is a he anyway)! Born Free helps with hippo projects in Kenya.
