Quiet contemplation

by Felicity Fuller

Every Friday Darren invites someone to be Guest Editor for the day to choose and discuss three or four of his images that have previously not been published on the website.  Today’s Guest Editor is Felicity Fuller who works at one of our favourite charities, the brilliant Born Free Foundation and will be updating us a little on some of the work of Born Free.  Felicity is writing in a personal capacity.

One of our staff members from Kenya gave us a fascinating talk yesterday about a great project that is being carried out there – thanks to funds raised by a similar event as the Elephant Parade (with painted lions instead).  It is great to think that this proud animal is being protected from vicitimisation by the building of lion-free “bomas” (or enclosures) where livestock can be herded at night for protection -communities and this wonderful animal both being given the right to co-exist….
