Protecting her greatest treasure

Another image of beautiful gentle colobus monkeys.
This baby is not very young – when they’re first born the monkeys are pure white, and only adopt their black and white coat when they are about a month old. Nevertheless, it requires the attention and protection of it’s mother who is doing a fantastic job here.
I do have a set of images of a newborn which I’ll post here on another occasion.
As you’ll know if you’ve read my previous posts, I’m currently up at Stoney Cove in Leicestershire where I’m diving for the weekend. It’s really just to get my dive skills back in order as I’m diving off the south coast from Brighton next weekend with the camera.
And I wish I had it with me today. A huge pike, plenty of roach and perch who came very close and some freshwater crayfish. It would be a very useful place to work from because the water tends to be still and the environment is much safer than in a river or the sea.
Of course, when I do, you’ll be the first to know.
