Pole dancer (don’t worry, SFW!)

by Darren

If you’ve ever watched a murmuration of starlings coming in to roost, you’ll have theories about why they do it and why millions all come to one place. You won’t know of course, it’s one mystery nature keeps to itself.

There’s every chance that warmth has crossed your mind at some point. That they huddle up together in those cold winter nights. We know this isn’t true because they sleep sideways on the stalks of the reedbed, seperately.

It was kind of this fellow to demonstrate for us on a wild cherry bush. Either that or it’s getting in a brief siesta!
