Poking my head above the parapet

by Darren

I’m back from the Philippines and it was quite a hectic trip.  Illness interrupted proceedings to some extent, particularly a nasty ear infection which restricted diving a bit.

It’s also a long time since I last blogged at canid.co.uk.  So long in fact that something’s gone wrong and I can’t post images at the moment.  We’re going to be moving away from the Canid brand in the next few months so I thought I’d post the first image of the trip over here instead.

Anyway, thanks for dropping by.  This is a goby poking it’s head out from it’s hole – I haven’t had time to identify the exact species just yet.  They’re very nervous creatures so it’s often as much luck as skill to photograph one – I was very fortunate to get several captures over the time I was out there.

It’s how I feel today.  Head a bit fuzzy after having slept for 19 hours, after traveling for 32 hours. Everything a mess everywhere, cases to unpack and washing to do. England playing football on the telly (I’m not a football fan but it gives me a chance to skive for 90 minutes), and the grass (nay, jungle) outside in the garden saying ‘cut me’.

I’m just poking my head above the parapet.  Think I might hide back in my hole now for a bit longer …… must be nice to be a Goby!
