People watching

by Darren

You never can tell from a distance what people are up to.  It’s a bit easier with wildlife – chances are it’ll be eating or hunting or sleeping or mating.  But humans.  Different species altogether.

Louise loves people watching and trying to work out what is going on and what’s being spoken about.  These two older gentlemen in Republic Square, Valletta are just the kind that would intrigue her.  Why are they out so early on a Sunday morning? Do they know each other well? Are they arguing over the love of a good woman? Are they veterans of the Maltese resistance against German and Italian attacks during World War II and recounting past glories?

Or are they two old chaps saying hello as one goes to church and the other heads home with his morning rolls?
