Not the most popular

Louise has been looking at our latest stock submission today. It’s important when considering which images to put in (or preferably before choosing which images to make!) to look at how much competition there is in that particular market. You’ve got to have pretty special pictures of lions or penguins if you’re going to get into that game because there are loads of people making images of them.
Anyway, we’ve got a few herons going on the list, and it appears that they’re not the most popular stock subject out there. Of course that might be because no-one wants to buy them, but I’d say these images have more chance of being seen by a buyer than some other subjects and that’s half the battle.
So there’s a tip for free. If you want to photograph a subject that not many other people are, then go out this weekend and find yourself a grey heron. Of course, you’ll have to get over the camera shake first – herons are always so gawky and funny looking they’re bound to make you chuckle!
