I need my slanket
by Annie Hylands

Every Friday, Darren invites someone to become ‘Guest Editor’ for the day to choose and discuss three or four images that have not been previously published on the website. Today’s Guest Editor is Annie Hylands, our first non-photographer editor. Annie lives with her three children and hopefully we’ll be seeing her soon on Come Dine With Me. This picture makes me feel so cold. It looks like freezing, and very early in the morning. The setting is stunningly beautiful, but it makes me want to put the heating on and wrap up in a slanket with a mug of cocoa.
I admire Darren’s dedication to his art for getting this shot, as I imagine him coming home all frostbitten after waiting for hours in the cold to get it.
