Every Friday, Darren invites someone to become ‘Guest Editor’ for the day to choose and discuss three or four images that have not been previously published on the website. Today’s Guest Editor is Richard Peters, a photographer based in the urban surroundings of West London. His preferred subject is wildlife and he has just recently started to dip his toe in to shooting footage of his subjects with DSLR video. You can see and read about Richard’s work on his blog.
I’ve long been a fan of the grey seals at Donna Nook. It’s not somewhere I visit on a yearly basis due to the growing number of people going to view the seals, but it is a magical place, albeit sometimes a very desolate one. I like this image because although the colours and tones are muted, and the seal looks as though it might be fed up, it’s actually a wonderful place to visit in all weather and the seals always seem to be enjoying themselves, whether snoozing on the beach or splashing about in the water.
